remember how i said the new unconventionalkitchen program rocks? (and to sign up soon because she is closing registration soon?). well, she had some great ideas on goal making and she suggested vision boarding--yes, i knew i was in the right place!
1. make your goals.
--remember what maggie said--have specific, attainable goals, that don't depend on any one else. goals that push you out of your comfort zone and to have the majority of them things you can mark off at the end of the year.
--limit your goals. i made the perfect amount of goals for 2011 (8) and way too many for 2012 (20). i also made too many "daily" goals--and i felt like i was failing at them. this year, i smiled when i made some very similar goals with out realizing it--but i worded them differently and that feels much more doable. ex. rather than read my scriptures every day of the year--finish the doctrine and covenants.
--PUT YOUR GOALS WHERE YOU CAN SEE THEM! this was a mistake i made last year. i couldn't remember my goals. i had a vision board for my word--but i would have to get on my blog to find my goals every few months and then i realized i was behind on them all and kind of gave up. and i wish i hadn't--because i really could have used a belly-dancing class last year.
2. write down the 'why' for your goals.
--this is something new for this year (thanks to desi!). extra motivation to accomplish your goals--with the clear reasoning behind it.
3. make a reward!
--another new idea for this year. i'm still figuring out a couple of rewards. but i've been trying to make them related to the goal. for example, keeping up my meditation practice--reward? attending the meditation retreat in october my friend amy is planning.
--post a picture of the reward next to your goal on your vision board.
